JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The hot, humid, and stormy pattern continues on Sunday and will last through most of the week ahead.
Highs in our region will be in the mid-90s, which allows both the opportunity for strong storms to develop and for the heat index to reach close to advisory levels. The National Weather Service will issue a Heat Advisory if the heat index reaches 108 for 2 or more hours. Clouds are expected to help keep advisory levels just below the threshold.
Dangerous lightning, gusty winds, and heavy downpours can be expected as the thunderstorms develop by 4 p.m. and last through sunset. These storms will be centered mostly over northeast Florida and coastal southeast Georgia.
Overnight lows will range in the mid-to-upper 70s under partly cloudy skies.
