TONIGHT
Thunderstorms and heavy downpours have ended. Light to moderate rain will continue for parts of Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida through sunset. Rain will be along the coast this evening.
Temperatures will drop into the mid to low 70s before sunrise and will peak back into the low to mid 90s on Sunday afternoon. Winds will come from the south and southwest overnight with high humidity and partly cloudy skies. Sunday storms will likely begin by noon and continue through 7 PM.
TRACKING THE TROPICS
In addition, there is a disturbance that stretches from the Gulf states to the Atlantic Ocean. There is a 20% chance of the development of a cyclone.
LOOKING AHEAD
Overall, high pressure along the Gulf states will help steer winds from the northwest as a line of low pressure moves into the area, causing heavy rain and flash flooding by Monday into Tuesday. Rain and storms remain in the forecast for the next seven days, with most storms peaking in the afternoon, which is typical for the summer.
