Rainfall amounts were recorded via Radar in the 1 - 2 inch range for areas east of Highway 301 to the beaches.
The summer pattern continues this weekend. The southwesterly sea breeze will get the rain started earlier near I-75, then shifting toward Highway 301 around 1-2 p.m. These will continue through sunset before weakening late.
Locally heavy rainfall, lightning and strong wind gusts will be the main hazards.
Evening: Showers and thunderstorms through sunset, then weaken late tonight.
Saturday: Partly cloudy skies will become mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms after 1-2 p.m. Rain chances are 40-60 percent. Morning lows will be in the 70s, with inland afternoon highs reaching the 90s and coastal areas in the upper 80s to low 90s.
Sunday: Showers and thunderstorms will ride the Gulf breeze. Skies will become cloudy with showers and storms developing around noon near I-75, and around 1-2 p.m. near Highway 301/US 1, with a 40-70 percent chance.
Tropics: No tropical development is expected for the next 7 days.
