Thunderstorms are slipping across the State line, weakening through midnight

Update: 10:00 p.m. Light rain continues across SE GA from Ware County to the Golden Isles. Thunderstorms are moving through Nassau, northern Duval, Baker and Columbia counties. These will continue to weaken through midnight.

Light rain has moved offshore for coastal southern St. Johns and Flagler counties.

The summer pattern will continue this weekend. With the southwesterly flow, rain chances will get a head start forming around noon near I-75 and Highway 301, then after 1-2 p.m. closer to the river and I-95.

Evening: Showers and thunderstorms will continue through sunset, then weaken late tonight.

Friday: Partly cloudy skies will become mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms after 1-2 p.m. Rain chances are 40-50 percent. Morning lows will be in the 70s, with inland afternoon highs reaching the 90s and coastal areas in the upper 80s to low 90s.

Weekend: Showers and thunderstorms with hitch a ride on the Gulf breeze. Skies will become cloudy with showers and storms developing around noon near I-75, and around 1-2 p.m. near Highway 301/US 1, with a 40-60 percent chance.

Tropics: Tracking a few tropical waves, but high pressure and loads of dust will help quell tropical development for the next 7 days.
