Warmer temperatures and scattered showers round out your Sunday forecast

Hot and humid conditions expected to linger as scattered storms remain a possibility across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia

Sunday Futurecast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Daytime highs are forecast to return to the 90 degree range, and those “feels like” numbers could be around 10 degrees higher, thanks to the humidity.

In the coming week, expect daily highs in the 90s, with a move into the mid-90s predicted midweek. The heat index will be a factor, so be ready for those afternoons to feel especially steamy.

Looking ahead, the forecast still includes a chance—about 30 to 40 percent—for more pop-up showers as east and west coast sea breezes meet. Most of this rain is expected to stay south of I-10, but a passing heavy downpour can’t be ruled out for other neighborhoods, either.

While Monday’s showers did not produce any lightning or thunder, there is an uptick in thunderstorm activity possible as slightly warmer weather helps fuel more storms.

What to expect for the rest of the week

The 7-day forecast shows a steady pattern of high humidity, steamy highs, and daily chances for afternoon storms. Highs in the mid-90s are expected by midweek.
