Drier days are on the way

Update: 900 p.m. A line of thunderstorms continues from Baker County, FL to Glynn County, GA. These will weaken as they move east, toward Duval and Nassau counties. Showers with thunderstorms will be possible with this feature through around 10 p.m. then weakening to showers and light rain through late tonight..

A cold front that is pushing south will stall in our area, offering another day with scattered afternoon showers and storms. The cold front will dissipate Saturday as the coverage of showers and storms decreases.

The onshore wind returns Sunday with sunny skies and a reduced chance of showers and storms.

Evening: Showers, thunderstorms through late tonight. Patchy fog overnight.

Friday: First day of Summer. Summer officially starts at 10:42 p.m. Hot and humid conditions persist, with afternoon showers and storms. The heat and humidity combination will make it feel like the triple digits. Scattered showers and thunderstorms, 40-70 percent. Lows in the 70s. Afternoon highs in the 90s inland, upper 80s to low 90s along the beaches. Wind SWSE 5 - 15 mph.

Weekend: Hot and humid with showers and storms Saturday, drier Sunday.
