Live Radar: Thunderstorms to spoil weekend outdoor activities for some

Isolated and scattered storms stay in NE FL and SE GA through weekend

FLOOD WATCH: Nassau and Duval County border near Old Kings Road and Ratliff until 8:15 PM

Isolated to scattered storms will continue to move through Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida for the entire weekend on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. These storms are capable of heavy downpours, lightning, and gusty winds.

They will be moving toward the northeast toward the Atlantic Ocean. Storms will begin to taper off after sunset Saturday.

Convective storms will continue as the atmosphere reaches peak temperatures in the afternoon. The storms will be coming from the south and southwest, heading toward the northeast. Counties along I-95 will have the greatest chance for storms. However, some storms will trigger along the I-10/I-75 corridor as well.

Rain accumulation is expected to be near an inch for Jacksonville International Airport before midnight. Rain accumulation for Brunswick will be closer to an inch and a quarter.

LOOKING AHEAD

Rain chances remain into the work week. This time of year, the low temperatures is typically in the low 70s with high temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s. This upcoming week temperatures will remain slightly above average. Rain and thunderstorms are likely the entire week. A front will move through toward the latter part of the week but won’t bring much relief in temperatures. Water Vapor will remain between 1.5 and 2 inches. Relative Humilities will stay high in the early morning and late evening hours. We could have severe storms next Friday or Saturday. However, forecasts are not valid past 48 hours. The paraments are consistent. A south wind will continue to help fuel storms through the week.
