JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The 90s continue to break records in Jacksonville and show no signs of letting up.
As of June 9, Jacksonville International Airport has recorded 30 days with high temperatures of 90 degrees or more since the beginning of 2025. This figure surpasses the previous record of 28 days set in 2011 by this date.
In an average year, Jacksonville typically experiences only 14 days of 90-degree highs in this time frame. With a high of 94 degrees recorded on June 10, the total has now reached 31 days.
The forecast for the next 10 days offers little relief, even with significant showers and storms expected.
Additionally, the heat index has already soared to 105 degrees or higher in some areas, adding to the discomfort for residents.
May 2025 set a record by having 19 days at or above 90, breaking the previous record of 17 days from 1990.
