Thunderstorms continue, onshore winds retun tomorrow

Update 9:00 p.m.: A large complex of thunderstorms is slowly moving east, with rain and storms affecting Putnam, St. Johns and Flagler counties.

In southeast Georgia Thunderstorms are approaching Ware County and areas along US 17 and I-95.

These will continue through around 10 p.m. and then slowly weaken through the night. Showers possible through around midnight.

The pattern begins to shift to an onshore flow on Wednesday afternoon, with a southeast wind persisting through Saturday. This will encourage daily rounds of rain to move inland with the Atlantic sea breeze.

Evening: Showers with thunderstorms. Clearing skies will lead to patchy to dense fog late.

Wednesday: The heat and humidity will persist with a southeasterly flow developing during the afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will move inland with the sea breeze, around 50-70 percent. Locally heavy rain and gusty winds are possible in stronger storms. Lows will be in the 70s, while afternoon highs will reach the 90s. Winds will come from the southwest at 10-15 mph. Partly cloudy overnight with patchy fog.

Looking ahead: Hot and humid with an active sea breeze, turning more onshore, keeping rain chances elevated through Friday.

Tropics: No tropical development is expected over the next 7 days.
