Summer heat, humidity and thunderstorms

Wet pattern continues

Jacksonville, FL – Showers and isolated thunderstorms will weaken and fade late tonight over southeast Georgia.

A line of showers with locally heavy storms is slowly sinking south, toward Brantley and northern Ware counties. These will dissipate between 10 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Scattered sea breeze showers and storms will keep rain chances elevated Friday through the weekend at around 50-60 percent. This pattern will continue next week with the dominant southwesterly flow.

Tonight: Showers ending late for SE GA. Patchy to areas of dense fog overnight.

Friday: Scattered showers with thunderstorms as the summer heat and humidity return. Scattered showers with thunderstorms will develop as early as noon around I-75 and then progress inland to Highway 301 around 1 - 2 pm. 40-60 percent. Lows in the 70s. Afternoon highs in the 90s. Wind: SW 10 - 15 mph. Partial clearing overnight with patchy to areas of dense fog.

The weekend forecast continues with our seasonal summer pattern. The Gulf and Atlantic sea breezes will merge, producing scattered afternoon showers and storms, mainly after 2 p.m. locally.

Tropics: No tropical development is expected over the next 7 days.
