JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – We are bracing for storms and periods of heavy rainfall late Thursday afternoon and into the evening.
The Weather Authority’s Exact Track 4D models highlight that some showers and storms could become severe, especially along the coast and just north into Georgia.
The day will start mostly dry, with clouds building up as the afternoon progresses.
High temperatures are expected to reach the low 90s—slightly below mid-90s levels seen earlier in the week due to increased cloud cover and rain chances.
Rain is most likely from 4-8 p.m., especially along the I-95 corridor.
Areas highlighted in red indicate where the heaviest rain and potential for severe weather will be concentrated.
Weekend forecast: Drier, more comfortable conditions ahead
The rainy pattern is forecast to continue into Friday, but the weekend will bring a significant change.
Skies are expected to clear on Saturday and Sunday, humidity will drop, and conditions will feel much more comfortable.
While high temperatures will stay near 90 degrees both days, the reduction in humidity should make it feel noticeably less sticky.
