A warm night with patchy fog forming late. A quiet night ahead with light to calm wind. With limited moisture, the fog will likely form near the Suwannee and the Okefenokee overnight.
It was a hot start to the week. The record for today is 96 degrees set in 1899. The record high for Tuesday is 99 degrees, set in 1962. Although our temperatures will be above normal on Tuesday, they will fall short of hitting the record level.
A weakening cold front will move through on Wednesday with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, 30-50 percent. Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible. Based on current timing, these will move through our area from around 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.
The temperature trend will continue above normal through the rest of the week and this weekend.
Tonight: Mostly clear and warm with patchy to dense fog possible inland.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy and hot. Morning lows in the 60s and 70s. Afternoon highs in the 90s inland, upper 80s to low 90s along the beaches. Wind SW/SE 5-10 mph. Patchy fog late.
The pattern continues this weekend as the humidity slowly increases. A weak front will move into southeast Georgia late Wednesday, bringing a slight chance of showers.
