JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – More rounds of heavy rain are expected today, starting before noon and lasting into Monday. The highs will stay in the lower 80s across the region with little to no sunshine later this afternoon. Sorry, Mom.
Our western Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia counties will first feel the effects as the system moves from the Gulf and lifts to the north and east. The biggest hazards are similar to yesterday’s storms: heavy downpours, gusty winds, and the potential for pea-sized hail.
Jacksonville International Airport recorded 1.26″ of rainfall on Saturday. We can expect to build on that amount today and into Monday. The record amount of rainfall on this date is 2.42″ from 2014.
