The clouds have arrived as the sea breeze slowly develops. We are still expecting another round of showers and thunderstorms with the potential of locally heavy rain.
The best chance for soaking rainfall will be near and along I-95 and the beaches. The showers and storms will begin developing around 5 p.m., with increasing coverage through around 9 p.m.
Storms will begin to weaken and fade after 10 p.m. A chance of showers will continue overnight and early Friday.
More of the same Friday with the increasing risk of local flooding as the ground becomes saturated.
Widespread rain with storms is expected Mother’s Day weekend with elevated rain chances hovering around 80-100 percent. Rounds of heavy rainfall could lead to additional flooding.

Friday: The threat of heavy rain and isolated strong to severe storms continues. Morning lows in the 60s to low 70s. Afternoon highs in the upper 80s to low 90s inland, 80s along the beaches. Rain chances will average 70-90 percent, most developing after 2 p.m. Wind: SSW 5-10 mph.
Looking ahead: The wet pattern continues Monday with widespread rain chances. Scattered showers with storms are expected on Tuesday with drier days and sunnier skies on Wednesday.
