- Opening of the Beaches Weekend: Parade and Sandcastle Contest 🆓🎶 The official Opening of the Beaches will kick off with a parade in the heart of Jacksonville Beach on Sunday, April 27, from 2-3 p.m. The parade will start at 5th Avenue N and 2nd Street. Once started, the parade will travel north to 11th Avenue North and 2nd Street, then turn East toward the ocean. Once the parade reaches 1st Street, it will turn south and travel all the way to Beach Blvd., where it will reach its conclusion.
