The summer heat and humidity are here, so are the bugs

Increasing chances of rain on Sunday

RECORDS (.)

Warm, humid, muggy and buggy.

Have you noticed the swarms of flying and biting pests recently? It turns out, bugs love our southeast humidity.

Insects depend on moisture to survive, and high levels of humidity provide the perfect breeding ground for many types of pests. Most flying insects benefit with temperatures between 65 and 85 degrees and at a Relative Humidity (RH) between 50 and 80 percent. High humidity levels, particularly in the 70% range or higher, create ideal breeding grounds for pests like gnats, flies and mosquitoes.
