Temperatures are dropping as the rain and storms head offshore. The rain and storms will be moving away from our forecast area around 10 to 11 pm. It is already much cooler with temperatures in the 50s and 60s.

Sunny skies and cooler temperatures will settle in behind the front for a SUN-sational weekend. Warmer temperatures will return early next week.

Tonight: Chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms is 30-50 percent. Stronger storms could produce gusty winds, small hail, and brief downpours. Showers will end around 8 to 10 pm.

Weekend: Mostly clear early with sunny skies and near-seasonal temperatures. It’s a great open window, outdoor kind of weekend. Morning lows will be in the 40s and 50s, with afternoon highs in the 70s inland and upper 60s to low 70s along the beaches. Wind: North at 10 - 15 mph.

Looking ahead: Warmer temperatures will start the week, with a dry cold front Wednesday, keeping Spring in the forecast.

Sunrise: 7:02 a.m.
