JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Severe Thunderstorm Watch continued for Nassau County in Northeast Florida and for Camden and Glynn counties of Southeast Georgia until 9 p.m. Monday evening.
A risk for severe winds and hail was expected to target southern Georgia, which had the greatest storm threat between 5-8 p.m.
Severe weather and storms were less risky near Jacksonville due to weakening storm strength and coverage as the line broke apart as it moved eastward.
TIMELINE FOR POTENTIAL SEVERE STORMS
Once the sun sets tonight, the storm will weaken and eventually dissipate while moving offshore by 9 p.m.
Winds out of the southwest will be 10-15 mph with gusts up to or over 20 mph. Damaging winds over 40 mph are possible in the storms between Waycross and Coastal Georgia.
Expected rainfall totals vary from under .1″ in Northeast Florida to .5″ in Georgia.
