Sunday afternoon thunderstorms and light to heavy rainfall will move through Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida for the day.
SUNDAY FORECAST
Temperatures will start in the low 60s, with calmer winds under 10 miles per hour, high humidity, partly cloudy skies and no rain until 6 am. Rain will then continue off and on from 6 a.m. until the end of the day (near 11:59 PM).
From 6 a.m. on Sunday to Monday 2 a.m. the rain accumulation will be a total of and inch to a tenth of an inch. It will remain cloudy on Sunday from 6 a.m. through midnight. Rain accumulation for Southeast Georgia will be closer to less than an inch near Brunswick, Georgia.
MONDAY SEVERE STORMS
Monday storms are elevated to severe with a higher chance of damaging winds, heavy downpours, hail and isolated tornadoes. A majority of the severe weather will be near I-10 and Southeast Georgia.
Thunderstorms will begin between 1 PM and continue through midnight on Monday. Temperatures will peak to 80 degrees with winds increasing at the same time to into the teens. Winds will continue from the southeast.
TIMELINE FOR POTENTIAL SEVERE STORMS:
The leading edge of the storm will approach around 1 PM from the northwest.
Thunderstorms will begin in Southeast, Georgia around 2 PM.
By 6 PM thunderstorms will be in Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida.
All storms will have moved offshore by 11 PM
