JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Weather Authority Chief Meteorologist, Richard Nunn, has issued an Impact Day for Wednesday due to a swift-moving cold front heading our way.
All models have shifted to an earlier start and finish for frontal passage.
Here’s what to expect:
Tuesday: Increasing clouds and coastal showers are possible.
Wednesday: Gusty winds with rain and severe thunderstorm risk; there is a low chance of tornados and small hail. Localized flooding is possible during heavy downpours.
When: 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.
What: Windy, gusts could exceed 50 mph with strong to severe storms. Hail could accompany some of the stronger storms.
How long: This is a fast-moving front
Southeast Georgia: 7 a.m. - 9 a.m.
Northeast Florida (I-75 - Highway 301): 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Northeast Florida (I-95, Coastal counties, St. Johns River): 11 a.m. - noon.
Southern Northeast counties: 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
