Mix of sun, clouds and fog, near-record highs Wednesday

Rain returns Thursday

. (.)

We are tracking a few showers between Highway 301 and US 17. These will continue to move across Putnam County as they lift northeast toward Clay, St. Johns and southern Duval counties this evening. Showers will end after sunset followed by more fog.

. (.)

Fog lingers along our coastal waters with a Marine Fog Advisory through 5 a.m. Wednesday. It is likely that we will see coastal counties under advisories tonight. Fog will continue to spread inland.

An increasing southwest flow will help mix the fog away Wednesday morning with more sun and near-record highs on tap.

Tonight: A few showers early then becoming foggy. Chance of showers is 20%.

Wednesday: Fog, mist, and drizzle will start the day followed by near-record highs under partly cloudy skies. Morning lows in the 50s to low 60s. Afternoon highs in the 70s to low 80s. Wind SW/SE 5-15 mph.

Thursday: Rain returns during the afternoon then slowly ends early Friday morning. Rain chance, 70%.

Friday will be cool and windy. Weather whiplash Saturday as skies clear and highs climb into the 80s. Cloudy skies are expected late Saturday with rain expected Sunday.

Sunrise: 7:09 am

Sunset: 6:12 pm
