JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The tradition continues as runners of all ages will lace up their shoes and take to the streets for the 47th Annual Ortega River Run.
Hosted by First Place Sports and held at Episcopal School of Jacksonville’s St. Mark’s Campus, this Grand Prix-sanctioned event will bring together families, competitive runners, and community supporters for an unforgettable morning of fitness and fun.
The running conditions could start foggy along the river but the sun will eventually dominate a warm morning.
The event will feature two races, both starting and finishing at Episcopal School of Jacksonville, St. Mark’s Campus, located at 4114 Oxford Ave., at the intersection of Ortega Boulevard.
The main event, a 5-mile course, will take participants on a scenic route through the historic Ortega neighborhood, featuring picturesque views of the Ortega River.
Runners will cross the Ortega Bridge, a hallmark of the race that offers a breathtaking view of the water.
The 1-mile fun run will provide a spirited and energetic experience for younger runners and those looking for a shorter challenge.
This race is the perfect opportunity to get in shape before the Gate River Run, offering a great tune-up for runners looking to test their endurance and pace.
Spectators will line the route, cheering on runners as they make their way through Ortega’s canopied neighborhood.
Beyond the thrill of the race, the event serves a meaningful purpose. Proceeds from the run will benefit the financial aid program at Episcopal School St. Mark’s Campus.
