Dense fog to blanket areas of Northeast Florida before midnight

Dense fog advisory in effect beginning at 10 p.m.

Tuesday evening forecast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – While the warmth is welcome during the first week of February, the evening and early morning fog is the biggest concern.

A dense fog advisory will begin at 10 a.m. for coastal St. Johns and Flagler counties. The advisory also includes Alachua and Columbia counties, south of I-10. Counties west of I-75 will also be affected.

Fog development will start at the beaches before moving inland overnight; dense fog will take over after 2 a.m. when the dew point and temperature meet around 53 degrees.

Humidity will be 100% by sunrise and along with calm winds, expect another morning of thick fog during your commute.

On Wednesday, once the fog burns off, temperatures climb back into the low 80s during the day in Northeast Florida and upper 70s in Southeast Georgia. Plenty of sunshine continues throughout the rest of the week.

The next chance of rain and cooler temperatures don’t show up until after the weekend!
