Foggy start leads to sunny afternoon with warm temperatures

Dense fog clears as temperatures rise into the 80s

Morning fog advisory

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Dense fog will blanket the area, impacting visibility, especially around with an advisory in effect until 10 a.m., so drivers should proceed with caution. Expect a cool but dry morning, so you might want a light jacket but can leave the raincoat at home.

Afternoon warmth ahead

After the fog lifts, warm weather is on the horizon, with highs reaching the 80s, which is warmer than a typical February day. Coastal areas will enjoy temperatures in the 70s, while inland regions may warm into the 80s. This trend is due to a ridge of high pressure that’s keeping the cold fronts away, bringing us several warm afternoons.

Long-term weather patterns

The current weather pattern remains stable with dry and warm conditions expected through the weekend. A ridge of high pressure is preventing cold fronts from reaching the area, leading to an early end to winter-like conditions. However, cooler temperatures could make an appearance next week.
