JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sunday will be quite pleasant across the region after the sunrises and the warmup truly begins. Light winds and mostly sunny skies will bring much-needed warmth. Expect highs in the low-to-mid 60s with light winds out of the north. The beaches will be a bit cooler staying in the mid-to-upper 50s.
The last week of January will feel temperatures returning to the normal range, although above-normal afternoons will reach over 70 degrees by mid-week.
The next chance of rain isn’t on the radar until at least Saturday, the first day of February, but there’s little chance of much accumulation.
Regarding the frozen January numbers, Saturday morning, January 25, was the coldest start to the day we’ve seen all winter and for 2025 with an official low of 26 degrees at the Jacksonville International Airport.
Other cold numbers include 5 straight days of high temperatures at/below 54 degrees, which ties for the 6th longest stretch since 1971. The number one spot belongs to December 29, 2000, thru January 4, 2001, which had 7 straight days at/below a high of 54 degrees.
