JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As a historic winter storm hit Florida and Georgia on Tuesday and into Wednesday morning, thousands were left without power.
About 37,000 customers were without power in Florida as of 10 a.m. including more than 4,000 in Nassau County and 400 in Baker County, according to PowerOutage.us.
Thousands of customers serviced by Okefenoke REMC were without power in Southeast Georgia, according to an outage map.

According to Georgia Power, there were also reported outages in Folkston (about 1,000) and Kingsland (more than 900).
The majority of the Florida outages were reported in the Panhandle which has seen a large amount of snow.
There were nearly 18,000 outages combined in Franklin and Wakulla counties as of 10 a.m.
