JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Light up the firepit and prop up your feet after the spectacular Saturday we’ve had across our area. While temperatures stayed in the mid-to-upper 80s across our region, evening temperatures will cool us down just a bit as the 60s return overnight.
The last Sunday in October will continue the summerlike temperatures under mostly sunny skies. A light breeze won’t keep the heat from settling in throughout the afternoon.
If the air seems a little hazy, it‘s not your imagination. A volcano eruption in Central Mexico could cause some volcanic ash to float into our region. NOAA’s Volcanic Ash Advisory Centers are tracking the plume.
Sunday morning will produce some localized fog in spots, mostly inland. The fog could be dense and should burn off by 9 a.m.
The beaches remain under a moderate rip current risk through Sunday. Temperatures will be on the cooler side along the coast, as well.
Rain chances return to the forecast on Monday with scattered showers along the Northeast Florida coast in the afternoon.
