The last Saturday of September will be sunny and hot with spots of showers

Saturday Futurecast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – September started with plenty of rain and will end with summerlike temperatures with mostly sunny skies.

Saturday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with temperatures in the upper 80s/90s, feeling-like close to 100. A light breeze with gusty conditions at times, will blow in some showers and possible thunderstorms this afternoon for close to 30% of the area.

Temperatures will drop into the upper 60s, mid-to-low 70s overnight.

A few things are brewing in the tropics: two named storms Isaac and Joyce; and more notably, one area of low pressure in the western Caribbean Sea, which is eerily in the same vicinity Helene formed. This system has a 40% chance of development in the next 7 days.
