Weather Authority Weekday: Summer heat and storms on tap after day of lightning strikes

It’s another classic summer week in Jacksonville, with the heat and humidity in full force — and those familiar afternoon showers making a return. A combination of Gulf and Atlantic sea breezes is the main factor driving this daily cycle of sunshine giving way to scattered rain. This comes a day after an apparent lightning strike set a house on fire in Baker County while another strike knocked out power in Jacksonville's Arlington neighborhood.
