A man in his 50s who was riding a push scooter was hit Friday night by two cars on Moncrief Road.
One of the vehicles, a white SUV, sped away from the scene.
Police said the incident happened around 8:55 p.m. when the man on the scooter was hit by a car that was making a left turn into a business.
JSO said the driver didn’t see the man on the scooter, and the impact of the crash threw the man into the roadway. Officials said a white SUV then struck the man and sped away.
The scooter rider was taken to a hospital, where he died.
JSO said the first driver who struck the man will not face any charges, but they were looking for the driver of the white SUV.
On Saturday, JSO released a photo of a person of interest. He was described as a man in his 50s.
