Bicyclist killed in crash on Blackrock Road in Nassau County

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A bicyclist was fatally struck by an SUV on Blackrock Road in Nassau County on Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Officials said at around 10:45 p.m., the SUV driver was headed north on Blackrock Road and the bicyclist was headed in the same direction to the outside of the lane near the fog line.

FHP said the front right of the SUV struck the rear of the bike.

Emergency responders from Nassau Fire Rescue said the bicyclist died at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt.
