Woman killed when SUV hits tree, pins her, FHP says

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A 59-year-old Ormond Beach woman was killed late Monday night in Flagler County when she became pinned after her SUV rolled forward and hit a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to the crash report, just before midnight on Monday, the woman was in her SUV on private property on Strickland Road but didn’t put the vehicle in park when she got out.

As she got out of the SUV, it rolled forward and hit a tree on the driver’s side, pinning the woman between the open door and the side of the SUV.

She died at the scene.
