Homeowners in Florida would be allowed to ward off surveillance drones under a new bill pushed by lawmakers.

According to a new study from the Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I), the cost to rebuild a home has surged by 55% from 2019 to 2022—nearly four times the rate of inflation. This means many homeowners in Florida may no longer have enough insurance to fully cover the cost of rebuilding their homes in the event of a disaster.

After one of the worst years in decades for home sales in the Sunshine State, local realtors are reporting an uptick in activity to start 2025.

Professor MacManus cautions that while some older voters have gravitated toward Biden, there are many others like Allen and Wise who are firmly in Trump’s corner.
