Celia has been attending book events in North and Central Florida in an effort for her book to reach a wider audience with the hope of reconnecting with others that were in the detention camps from 1994-1995. Her memoir is filled with photographs of refugees and military personnel that they encountered during their time in Guantanamo Bay and that she hopes to find again. She details their year in hiding searching for a way out, the construction of a homemade boat, their 18 hours in the ocean, their subsequent rescue at sea, 10 months spent in the Guantanamo Bay detention camps and life after arriving in the United States. Celia has been attending book events in North and Central Florida in an effort for her book to reach a wider audience with the hope of reconnecting with others that were in the detention camps from 1994-1995. Her memoir is filled with photographs of refugees and military personnel that they encountered during their time in Guantanamo Bay and that she hopes to find again.
