St. Johns County records 3 highest days of COVID-19 cases this week
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Including Friday, the last three days have marked the three highest single-day increases of COVID-19 cases reported in St. Johns County. The Nation’s Oldest City is keeping the tradition alive despite the rising COVID-19 cases in the county. On Wednesday, the county set a new record of 155 new reported cases. Then Thursday set a new record -- hitting 171 newly reported cases. On Friday, the state Department of Health reported 157 new cases in the county.

Nights of Lights brings much-needed boost to St. Augustine businesses
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Downtown St. Augustine was filled with people on Thursday night as many flocked to the city to see all the beautiful lights. The lights wrapped around trees and buildings throughout St. Augustine attract thousands of people each year. With Nights of Lights, he said sales have gone through roof even with 50% capacity. With a long line of people waiting to eat at Burger Buckets, Easton says he’s grateful for the joy Nights of Lights brings. Visit St. Augustine said it encourages people to practice social distancing and follow the CDC guidelines so everyone can enjoy the event safely.

Beer for a cause: Nights of Pints returns to St. Augustine
For the fourth year in a row, St. Augustine’s four craft breweries have teamed up to give back. The Nights of Pints, which coincides with the annual Nights of Lights event, was started by the breweries as a way to help nonprofit organizations in the area. The breweries include Ancient City Brewing, Bog Brewing Company, Dog Rose Brewing Company and Old Coast Ales. For $30, you get a shirt -- available at any of the four breweries -- and a punch card. The punch card is redeemable from Nov. 14 through Jan. 31.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The 26th annual Nights of Lights will brighten 20 blocks of St. Augustine’s historic district beginning Saturday. According to National Geographic, it is one of the 10 best holiday lights displays in the world. “We were down here last year for the Nights of Lights and it was gorgeous, and we wanted to see it again. It is worthwhile to come every year.”The Hausers are just two of hundreds of thousands of people who will come to St. Augustine for Nights of Lights, according to the City. “Busier every year,” said Chris Taylor, a life-long St. Augustine resident.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The city of St. Augustine is preparing for thousands of visitors to check out the annual Nights of Lights at the end of the month. Chris Fitts with Angels in Architecture and his team have been hanging the lights for Nights of Lights for more than 20 years. "It takes what's already beautiful, St. Augustine, and makes it even more beautiful at night by enhancing what's already there," explained Paul Williamson, City of St. Augustine Public Affairs Director. To prepare for Nights of Lights, Fitts said they maintain all the equipment year-round and then start installing some of the lights as early as August. With just over two weeks until Nights of Lights, Fitts said there is still a lot of work to be done.

The annual Nights of Lights holiday celebration in St. Augustine will last even longer this year. The wildly popular annual holiday lighting program, which begins each year the Saturday before Thanksgiving -- will now last through Feb. 2. The City Commission voted unanimously to extend Nights of Lights an extra weekend. The Nights of Lights begins on Saturday, Nov. 23 with a ceremony in the Plaza de la Constitucin deemed Light-Up!
