The call for action for a Duval County inmate whose critical injuries led to his death in early April continued Tuesday as community activists came together in front of Jacksonville City Hall.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Some UPS drivers say they’ve reached their breaking point and they’re calling for an end to what they say is “abuse” by management. Members of the union representing drivers, along with drivers’ wives, local activists and a city councilman took the steps of Jacksonville City Hall on Monday making demands of UPS managers. Dave Schneider, a UPS package driver and shop steward, said local UPS drivers are being subjected to what he calls workplace abuse. “We want an end to the abuse package drivers have seen here in Jacksonville,” Schneider said. He’s calling for an immediate response from UPS in Jacksonville because of incentives the City Council approved for UPS with taxpayer money.

Mayor Lenny Curry told hundreds gathered Tuesday morning to march with Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette from Jacksonville City Hall to the Duval County Courthouse that he was listening to their voices. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Once a call was made to Jacksonville City Hall, debris has been picked up from the Daybreak Forest subdivision, after neighbors shared their concerns with News4Jax. Earlier Tuesday morning, a News4Jax viewer shared photos of large piles of brush, tree limbs and yard waste that had been sitting along curbs for, what neighbors said, was longer than a month. They said that trash collectors and recyclers were showing up weekly, but for some reason, their yard waste wasnt being removed. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - An effort to place a referendum for a half-cent sales tax on a November ballot in Duval County has stalled in Jacksonville City Hall, but the push from supporters continues. In May, the Duval County School Board approved a resolution seeking a special election in November, which would put the decision on the half-cent sales tax increase in the hands of the voters. The goal of the civil rights organization and school district leaders was to educate people about the state of education facilities in Duval County. It's a benefit to everybody and every school district and every school in every district to benefit from this," Hershey said. He said he trusts the school district leaders and their plan.
