This morning isolated patchy dense fog with low visibilities is ongoing across SE GA along I-95 and along I-10. Temperatures region wide are in the low to mid 50s under partly cloudy skies.The rest of today will be pleasant with afternoon highs in the upper 70s, with winds from the south between 5-10 MPH and gusts as high as 16 MPH.Sunday: Overnight lows will be dipping down into the upper 50s with breezy conditions continuing throughout the day with gusts as high as 20 MPH from the south. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 70s to 80s region wide. Showers increase heading into Sunday afternoon and into Monday morning.Monday: Severe storm chances are possible where gusty winds and an isolated tornado threat is possible in the afternoon.Rest of the week: Dry conditions return with temperatures right around normal for this time of year in the mid to upper 60s under sunny skies.
FHP trooper killed in crash on I-95 while trying to detain a fleeing felon in St. Lucie County
A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was killed Friday morning in a crash on Interstate 95 near Port St. Lucie, officials said. FHP Trooper Zachary Fink died in a wreck with a semitrailer on I-95 north at Crosstown Parkway near Port St. Lucie, according to authorities.
Severe storm risk this evening into overnight
Light shower activity is moving into Nassau and Duval County this morning but none of this is expected to be severe throughout the morning. Temperatures across the area are in the low to mid 50s, a cool start.SATURDAY SEVERE: Later on, showers and thunderstorms will increase over the viewing area where the SPC has highlighted the I-95 corridor and our coastal areas for a slight risk of severe storms (level 2/5) with a 5% tornado risk area over the I-95 corridor from Fernandina beach all the way down to the Palm Coast where isolated Flood watches, coastal flood advisories, high surf advisory and wind advisories have been issued through Sunday morning. TIMING: Scattered severe storms will push from the south after 4PM this afternoon and the tornado potential increases heading into the evening and overnight as a gulf low moves over our area. Best chance for the risk of tornadoes is 7PM Saturday-Sunday Morning along with severe winds (65+mph possible)SUNDAY: Scattered severe storms will continue overnight into the early morning hours. The severe threat will dwindle after lunch time, but showers and gusty winds will continue throughout the day on Sunday. Winds will be from the West 15-20 MPH gusts up to 30 MPH.Rest of the week: Monday sunshine will return with cool temperatures all around. Highs in the upper 50s and 60s and overnight frost into Tuesday will be possible.

A 26-year-old motorcyclist traveling south on State Road 9B exit ramp to southbound I-95 died after crashing with a sign and guardrail Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Temperatures this morning are muggy in the upper 60s to low to mid 70 near the coast. Afternoon highs will reach the low to mid 80s region wide with mostly cloudy then turning partly cloudy by the afternoon.
