A major fire that shut down Jacksonville International Airport on Friday afternoon left structural damage in the hourly parking garage, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority confirmed to News4JAX.

Officials said 50 cars were damaged after a fire broke out in the hourly garage at the Jacksonville International Airport on Friday afternoon. The airport is expected to reopen at 5 p.m.

Tow trucks and special equipment began removing cars inside a St. Vincent's Hospital parking garage that partially collapsed.
