FHP said a black SUV was travelling east in the westbound lanes. A white Volkswagen was traveling eastbound when they both collided shortly after 8:30 p.m. The FHP did not release their names, but said next of kin had been notified. News4Jax followed up with FHP to ask how the vehicles collided head-on.

The crash happened at the intersection of Blanding Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue. A car carrying a 73-year-old woman and 86-year-old man turned into the path of an oncoming SUV traveling north on Blanding Boulevard, according to Florida Highway Patrol’s crash report. The oncoming SUV hit the car and as a result of the impact traveled into the southbound lanes and hit another vehicle head-on. The crash happened at 9:50 Wednesday night.

The half-cent ballot item is expected to generate that total for Duval County Public Schools, a significant portion of that going toward safety and security, building upgrades and renovations at facilities across the city. Some of the lowest-income areas of Duval County will need the highest number of that tax money. — Lenny Curry (@lennycurry) November 4, 2020Curry also thanked Duval County voters for supporting the tax, saying it’s an investment in the county’s children and their futures.
