Five members of the Proud Boys, a far-right militant group, have filed a lawsuit claiming their constitutional rights were violated when they were prosecuted for their participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

A one-time leader in the Proud Boys far-right extremist group has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, tying the record for the longest sentence in the attack.

He later went to the trouble of putting a finger emoji on the photo pointing to a fuzzy image of someone by the tunnel. “We are good people who care deeply about our country,” Chansley wrote.
