The first-ever Jacksonville Mural Festival brought color, creativity, and community to the expanding Rail Yard District on Saturday.

San Marco’s long-standing tradition of celebrating art after Thanksgiving continued with the 26th annual Art Festival at Balis Park.

A new mural was unveiled on Jacksonville’s Eastside Saturday to bring more awareness to mental health and the resources available to the community.

For more than two decades, Art with a Heart in Healthcare has been dedicated to serving Greater Jacksonville and its surrounding communities by providing a fine art experience that enhances the healing process for patients and their families. Now in their 14th year of partnership, Art with a Heart in Healthcare and MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) Jacksonville present "The Power Within" art exhibition, showcasing the artwork of 16 patients from Wolfson Children's Hospital. To celebrate the opening of this inspiring exhibition, a free, family-friendly public reception will be held on Sunday, September 15, from 2-4 pm. Jacksonville artist Elena Øhlander is speaking out against the hate through her art to help Dimalanta and other Asians dealing with violence. “Unfortunately, the level of harassment and violence against Asian Americans has been escalating,” said Øhlander, who is of Chinese and Norwegian descent. Recently, the United States was awakened by a disturbing attack in which eight people, including six Asian Americans, were killed at Atlanta-area day spas. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is reopening its galleries today for the first time since it closed because of the coronavirus pandemic March 13. The museum reopened its gardens to the public June 20, but this is the first reopening for indoor exhibitions. The main exhibition on display, Striking Power, is a collection from the Brooklyn Museum of Art. The exhibition was featured in Janaury at Cummer Museum. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A group of local artists unveiled a mural Saturday in Avondale. Six artists, part of a nonprofit organization called Figment, spent the last month putting the mural together. "It's all about courage, uncertainty, how we get through those times of uncertainty, perseverance and change," Corey Kreisel said. He talked about how this plays a role in reaching out into communities and having conversations to make change. This was also an effort to gather up donations for a Jacksonville group fighting injustices.
