Yvette Sanchez joined the News4Jax team in February 2025. Originally from Southern California she’s a first-generation Cuban/American who is very proud of her Latina heritage. She attended Arizona State University and received her degree in Sports Journalism from the Walter Cronkite school of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
Yvette has been all over the United States, covering High School sports, MiLB, tornadoes and COVID-19 in Huntsville, Alabama. To Hurricane Ian in Fort Myers to most recently covering all things Sports in Orlando. During all her stints, Yvette never lost sight of the most important things, the community, the person and the message.
Yvette is excite to join the News4Jax team and hopes to make a difference and impact when it comes to telling stories through engagement in the community. Her passion has always been sports and looks to always inspire and put a smile on your face.
Yvette loves to spend her time going to sporting events, at the gym, Disney World or enjoying a good movie at home snuggled up with her dog bear. She grew up cheerleading and was a ballroom dancer for some time. If there’s music, you’ll always find her dancing.
