Marilyn Vaca is an award-winning digital leader with a proven track record of driving innovation and engagement across multiple media platforms. As the Manager of Content and Coverage at WJXT, Marilyn oversees digital strategy, content development, and audience growth for the news leader in Northeast Florida. She champions smart storytelling, user-focused design, and data-informed decision-making—resulting in increased digital reach and strong community impact. Marilyn has also led teams through major brand redesigns, product launches, and evolving audience habits, always with a clear focus on inclusion, localism, and journalistic excellence.
Prior to her role as Manager of Content and Coverage, Marilyn served as Digital Director where she successfully scaled digital content production and forged new strategies around original programming on streaming, OTT, social media, and mobile engagement. Her career began in broadcast journalism and has since expanded into the full spectrum of digital transformation in local media. Over her career, she has held key newsroom positions at WJAX/WFOX in Jacksonville, WFTV/WRDQ in Orlando, KIRO in Seattle, WAGA in Atlanta and WKMG in Orlando.
