Katie Garner comes to the WJXT Team all smiles. She started her career almost a decade ago on HOM3LAND as Claire Danes' Stand-In for Season 1, which she says got her used to being on camera and is responsible for shaping her career up to this point.
From there, she was On-Air at WBTV News in Charlotte, Good Day Columbus in Columbus, Ohio, FOX8 WGHP in the Triad of North Carolina, FOX Weather in New York and Orlando, and has found a new On-Air home in the City of Jacksonville.
Katie lives in the Riverside area with her Mini-Bernedoodle, Kevin.
Katie has a Certificate in Weather Forecasting from Penn State University, and her true passion is covering severe weather. She wants to help keep you safe. Tornadoes and Hurricanes are what she thrives in covering most. She loves hearing from viewers, so if you ever have questions- she will answer them!
Katie has racked up an adventurous career in television, movies, and local broadcasting. Katie loves to laugh at herself, and she often laughs at the wrong times! She posts often about her wild and crazy stories on her social media pages.
