Al Campbell serves as the News Operations Manager at WJXT-TV 4, where he oversees a team of editors, photographers, production staff, and newscast directors. Previously, he held the role of Chief Photographer for 17 years, during which he played a key role in training and developing several Emmy Award-winning photojournalists. Al also led efforts to keep WJXT at the forefront of industry standards, driving technological innovation and advancing the station's news products.
A graduate of Alabama State University, Al began his career as a photojournalist in Montgomery, Alabama. Having grown up as a "military brat," he has lived and worked in various cites, including Knoxville, Tennessee, Birmingham, Alabama and Orlando, Florida before settling in Jacksonville, Florida.
Al is a proud father of three daughters and met his wife in Jacksonville, the city he now calls home. Passionate about technology, he also serves as a Deacon and is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
