1. (1) Beachside (8-1, Class 5A)

Quality wins: Episcopal, New Smyrna Beach, Ponte Vedra, Providence, South Walton.

Notable: The Barracudas went 2-0 since our last Super 6, including a high quality 3-1 W over Providence. They return top action Friday at Venice High School’s Battle at the Beach. Their lone loss was a 3-1 match to Chiles, the reigning Class 5A state champ. The Timberwolves have won 35 consecutive games and only dropped two sets this season, one of those to the Barracudas. Those teams are bound to meet again for a berth in the state semis.

2. (3) Bishop Kenny (8-4, Class 4A)

Quality wins: Creekside, Fleming Island, Mountain Brook (Ala.), Providence, Riviera Prep, Strawberry Crest, True North.

Notable: The Crusaders went 1-1 since our last Super 6, including a high quality 3-1 win over Fleming Island. The loss was a 3-0 to powerhouse Chiles. Up next on Wednesday for the Crusaders is a very good Santa Fe. Mattie Wilkey (85 kills), Lilian Heldenbrand (78 kills) and Chelsea Akakatang (70 kills) are powering Kenny at the net. Sophia Miller (173 assists) and Mia Ancayan (132 assists) are running the offence, while Alexis Sowers (200 digs) and Lauren McCarthy (115 digs) lead the defense.

3. (T5) Fleming Island (8-2, Class 5A)

Quality wins: Bolles, Fletcher, Mandarin, Ponte Vedra, Ridgeview.

Notable: The Golden Eagles make the big move of the week after going 1-1 since our last Super 6. They lost to Bishop Kenny (3-1) but responded with a 3-2 win over previous No. 2 Ponte Vedra. Lauren Brosky (115 kills) and Lillie Eason (93 kills, 84 digs), Hazel Williams (166 assists) and Alana Santiago (120) are all having strong seasons for Fleming Island.

4. (2) Ponte Vedra (7-7, Class 5A)

Quality wins: Boca Raton Christian, Bolles, Daphne (Ala.), Middleburg, Providence, Ridgeview.

Notable: The Sharks went 1-2 since our last Super 6, losing to Chiles (3-0), topping Providence (3-2) and losing to Fleming Island (3-0). They’re back in action at the Venice tournament on Friday. The seven losses are jarring and they’ll likely add a few more this week, but the Sharks have dropped just two of those to local teams (Beachside, Fleming Island). Vivi Woodbury (79 kills) and Lily Keely (70 kills) and Khloe Murray (50 kills) are leading the attack. Avery Webb has 145 digs to lead the defense. Haydin Froehlich added more than 100 assists since our last Super 6, and is up to 326 on the season.

5. (4) Providence (9-4, Class 2A)

Quality wins: Holy Trinity Episcopal, Olympia, Santa Fe, Tocoi Creek, Trinity Christian.

Notable: A mixed bag for the Stallions since our last Super 6. They picked up quality wins over Olympia, Santa Fe and Hoy Trinity Episcopal, major victories. They lost three straight to Hagerty, Ponte Vedra and Beachside. Overall, a quality week for the Stallions, who took Ponte Vedra to a fifth set and lost 3-1 to Beachside. Isabela Lopez (152 kills) leads Providence at the net. Emma Clifton (264 assists), Addison Shaw (151 digs) and Julianna Baskin (27 blocks) top the categories for the Stallions.
