JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It was the last practice before the first preseason game. Little bit of a scaled-back kind of day. Practicing in shorts as they try and gear up for Saturday, where we will see everyone. Yup, head coach Liam Coen said he is going to play everyone. He said Robert Hainsey helped to convince him to let everyone play. Yes, that includes Travis Hunter on both offense and defense.

Notebook

  • Brian Thomas Jr. was back at practice after missing Wednesday with an illness.
  • Another day, another big play from a Jaguars tight end. This Liam Coen offense looks like it will be very tight-end friendly. Brenton Strange caught a wide-open TD pass down the sideline. There have been pretty consistent opportunities for the tight ends to make plays through camp.

Players to watch in preseason (Not named Travis)

Joshua Cephus

He has shown up during training camp. He told me his goal is to show up on the preseason field since he struggled during the preseason game last year.

Parker Washington

Talk about a guy making his presence known. Parker has made some big catches throughout camp. Going into year 3, Parker is trying to carve out a role on the offense.

Chuma Edoga

He is one of the guys who has an OR next to his name on the depth chart. Edoga is pushing to find away onto the field. If he wins the spot at guard and Mekari is healthy, that could cause some ripple effects on the O-line.

Antonio Johnson

Pretty sure Johnson is the one who came up with the interception off Mullens. Either way he is in the middle of a battle at safety and has been one of the guys rotating into the starting until. He has come up with a handful of turnovers throughout camp. Worth watching to see how that safety rotation will be handled.
