JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy day. Well at least for the Jaguars offense.
Trevor Lawrence was not pleased with what they put on the field, saying “today was definitely one of our worst days as an offense.” Raw and honest comments from Lawrence. It was a rough day. From false start penalties all the way to a botched pre-snap motion that forced a fumble from John Wolford to end practice.

Trevor Lawrence: 7 for 12, INT.
Nick Mullens: 4 for 6.
John Wolford: 3 for 4.
Seth Henigan: 1 for 2.
The QBs didn’t have great days but some of that could be pointed at struggles from the O-line. This is the most the Jags O-line has struggled in any single day of camp. Up until now, the coaches have been conservative about blowing plays dead because of a “sack.” Well, there were multiple plays on Tuesday that the whistle blew before the throw because of the pressure coming from the D-line.
One play that really sticks out in my head was from Dawuane Smoot. He put rookie Wyatt Milum on his back. Coaches had no choice but to sound the whistle. Great play from Smoot, but a big learning moment from the rookie.

Travis Etienne: seven carries (four from Lawrence, one from Mullens and two from Wolford).
Tank Bigsby: six carries (five from Lawrence and one from Mullens).
LeQuint Allen: three carries (one from Lawrence, one from Mullens, and one from Wolford).
Bhayshul Tuten: four carries all from Mullens.
JaQuinden Jackson: three carries (one from Mullens and two from Henigan).
The running backs had no space to work. Feels like every run was stuffed at the line of scrimmage. The best plays from running backs on the day both came in the passing game. Bigsby caught a deep pass down the sideline, and Tuten caught a short pass and left Ventrell Miler in the dust to turn it into a nice gain. This is something we have seen from Tuten a few times during camp. He is explosive and can make linebackers miss.
Notebook
- Different kind of day for Travis Hunter. He flipped back and forth throughout the day, putting a white jersey over his teal to go to the defensive side of the ball.
- Cam Little was 5 for 5 on kicks with the longest coming from 59 yards out.
- Another nice day for Joshua Cephus. He made two nice catches, including one where he got loose deep. Cephus has been one of the top performers throughout camp.
- Jourdan Lewis came up with a diving interception off Trevor. Great play from Lewis, who looks like he is going to be a great addition to the Jags secondary.
- Jon Gruden was hanging out at Jaguars camp practice. Liam Coen said after practice that some of their offense comes from Gruden.
- Josh Hines-Allen had another dominant kind of day. JHA is making Walker Little’s life difficult.
- First time I have seen Patrick Mekari line up at right tackle. That is the flexibility they want from their O-linemen. Just interesting to note.
