JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The pads are on. The first day of pads for the Jaguars is always a big milestone for training camp. Now, things take a step up.
Good day of work for both sides. Liam Coen said after practice that he was pleased with the team’s physicality.

The offense and the defense had some wins, but they did keep score for at least part of practice, and the defense got the edge 5-4. So, I guess that makes them winners for the day.

The defense has looked good so far through camp. And with the pads going on, more of the same, but it was a clean day for the offense as well. No interceptions (even if a Trevor Lawrence pass should have been picked), but there was one fumble. The defense is punching at the ball on every play. This is a noticeable change in aggression, and they have forced a fumble what feels like every day.

🤕 Injury update 🤕
- Buster Brown will miss the rest of training camp with a lower leg.
- Bhayshul Tuten missed practice with a hamstring injury
- Patrick Mekari missed practice with back spasms.
- Johnny Mundt missed practice again with back injury he is expected back soon.
📓Notebook 📓
- Devin Lloyd felt like he was all over the field. Lloyd made more than a few stops for running plays near the line of scrimmage.
- When camp started, Joshua Cephus seemed like a bubble guy. As camp has progressed, he is looking more and more like a guy who is going to make the 53. Cephus caught a deep pass from Lawrence as he keeps working his way up the rotation.
- Darnell Savage has made some plays throughout camp. There is a battle going on for that second safety spot, and he is putting himself right in it. Savage forced a fumble from Brenton Strange and should have had an interception from Lawrence He just dropped it. Savage has been around the ball a lot and looks more comfortable so far this year than he did last season.
- During DB and WR 1 on 1’s, Christian Braswell and Jarrian Jones both made nice plays. Jones fought through to punch the ball out against Dyami Brown and Braswell had a couple of wins, including dropping what should have been an interception.
