COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of North Florida Ospreys softball team continues to make program history. Saturday night, UNF beat Virginia 6-5 in a come-from-behind victory to advance to the NCAA Columbia Regional final.

The Ospreys will have to beat South Carolina twice on Sunday to win the regional title. The first game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on ESPN2. UNF lost to the Gamecocks 3-0 Saturday, which advanced USC to the regional final.
UNF had to play Virginia for a second time after beating the Cavaliers 2-1 in the opening game Friday. That was the first-ever NCAA tournament win for UNF.

The Ospreys scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut the deficit to 5-4 heading into the final inning. Mackenzie Woods stepped up to the plate and smashed a game-tying home run. Then with two outs, Chloe Culp’s ground ball scored Lauren Brock for the game-winning run.
